DAYV

Hailing from the beautiful city of Los Angeles, CA, Dj Dayv has always been around the inspiring beats of countless djs and music producers. Growing up in the early 90’s, Dayv was driven to school every day in a car that was constantly bumping the latest powertools mix tapes, and promo mixes by some of the best local djs at that time. Dj Dayv’s father was a real die-hard fan of soulful house music, and there never was a day where it wasn’t blasting at home, or in the car; And to no surprise, Dayv went on to develop a love for the genre, but he would have never thought his passion would run so deep, and the music would have taken him so far. At the age of 15, Dayv was taken to his first EDM event at The Arena, located in Hollywood, CA, and after that night he knew that he wanted to be a performer.

Falling out of sync, and into more of the rock genres, Dayv formed several bands, and therefore started learning the basic construction of music. He went on to play in clubs across the state ranging from : The Roxy, The Knitting Factory, and Chain Reaction. A natural crowd pleaser, Dayv excelled in the local metal scene, becoming very well known amongst peers, and local show-goers. But as time went on, Dayv grew tired of countless band-mates not being committed enough, and eventually fell out of the metal scene.

In June of 2007, Dayv attended a unique type of gathering called a Rave. The energy of the rave was indescribable to him. Being a part of many different music scenes, he had never seen so many people in one place coming together just to have a good time. This was the world that he felt gravitated to, and he had no idea how much of a part of it he would become. Going to several of these parties, Dayv noticed songs that he grew up listening to, were being remixed and played. Naturally, Dayv gravitated towards the house music stages, and enjoyed seeing how different djs presented themselves live. In December of 2007, Dj Dayv brought it upon himself to buy a pair of Pioneer CDJ’s, and teach himself to mix. In his early phases of djing, Dayv spun a mixture of Fidget and House, but felt that he needed to dig deeper into a genre that best suited his characteristics... harder and deeper.

Finally he stumbled upon a subgenre of house that caught his attention, this genre being : Tech House. Dayv submerged himself in tech house, and inevidably stumbled upon the minimal, and techno genres as well. After many months of practicing and perfecting his mixing, Dayv made his debut at a small warehouse party in June of 2008. From then on, a snowball effect occurred, and Dayv grew wildly popular amongst the local crowds. Since then he has played all over the U.S., ranging from Las Vegas, San Fransisco, to even Hawaii. Known for focusing on some of the most depthful House/Minimal/Techno genres that inspires one to travel into the deepest parts of their mind, Dayv caught the attention of locally owned club and radio show : “Viva La Tech”. Currently Dayv is working in the studio to create music from his prospective, finally putting good use to all the creative juices he’s been saving up for years.
