Merlyn Martin is known for his progressive mixing style and was dubbed the “Copperfield” of House and Techno by Urb Magazine. Merlyn believes techno is a progressive genre and should always push the musical envelope. Whether it be hard banging beats, minimal tech, harder hitting house, tribal, vocal, melodic tones, or techy house “It’s all about mixing it up, it’s the mixing and the formatting that matters most to me”. A Merlyn Martin live set is a progressive journey through the whole genre of techno!

Merlyn’s diverse style is showcased on the Subdivisions Global Radio Show on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of each month on Di.fm/techhouse channel. Subdivisions features the ever changing Progressive Sounds of Techno. The Subdivisions radio show is downloaded monthly in 50+ countries and hosts guest mixes from some of the best DJ/Producers in electronic dance music today.

Merlyn Martin has produced and remixed music for such labels as Perfecto Black, Xela Digital/BIT Records Mexico, Stranamente Music Italy, Mizumo Music, Stripped Digital, Jet Lag Digital, Total Wipes Records, NOSI Music, A-Squared Muzik, AcropolisRPM and Polytechnic Records.

Merlyn Martin has played alongside artists Frankie Bones, DJ Pierre, Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Terry Mullen, DJ Dan, Mistress Barbara, Christian Smith & John Selway, Tim Taylor, Doc Martin, Christopher Lawrence, DJ Taylor, Thee-O, Dave Randall, Barry Weaver, Sandra Collins, BT, Rabbit in The Moon, and many, many more.

In 2009 Merlyn Martin joined the Los Angeles based techno collective Viva La Tech. The Viva La Tech artists must not only be an accomplished DJ but must also be on the cutting edge of music production and music technologies with a precise vision toward the future. Merlyn believes that Viva La Tech can and will bridge the gap in Los Angeles techno and beyond by dropping the pretentious and elitist attitude. Viva La Tech presents techno in a manner that allows the Any-Man and the Every-Man to enjoy the techno experience!

When not working on the Subdivisions Global Radio Show and Viva La Tech events Merlyn Martin is working hard in the studio on original tracks and remixes. Keep an eye out for the forthcoming Merlyn Martin & Huggie “Confirmation” E.P. on Polytechnic Recordings that drops on May 4th, 2010. Also look out for Merlyn Martin’s “1010 Baltic” which drops in late May on Acropolis RPM Records and the Merlyn Martin & Torin Schmitt remix of Farley & Corin’s “Trainwreck” on BIT Records, Mexico that drops in April, 2010.
